Saudi Arabia approves new rules for enforcing court decisions
Saudi Arabia’s justice minister approved new enforcement rules for court decisions and legal obligations.
The rules contain 54 articles setting procedures, deadlines and requirements for enforcing those decisions.
They take effect on October 29, 2026, alongside the new Enforcement Law.
Under the rules, a property must generally be handed over within five working days of an eviction notice.
Officials may extend the deadline when needed, but the extension cannot exceed 60 days.
For homes, the rules require safeguards for families and help with moving out for women, children, older people and people with disabilities.
The rules also cover alimony, child custody and visits, electronic registration of certain financial documents, and which decisions can be formally challenged.
Saudi Arabia’s new Enforcement Law regulations require property to be handed over within five working days of notice of an eviction order or public announcement, as applicable.
The competent department may extend the period when necessary, but the extension cannot exceed 60 days.
The regulations include protections for people leaving residential properties, including women, children, older people and people with disabilities.
