Russian attacks damage Ukraine energy facilities and leave hundreds of thousands without power
Russian attacks damaged energy facilities in four Ukrainian regions overnight, officials said.
Substations, transformers and power lines were hit in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr and Khmelnytskyi regions.
Hundreds of thousands of customers lost electricity, while the Energy Ministry said six regions had partial outages and supply was especially difficult in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk.
A separate drone attack in Vinnytsia region killed at least three people, and three children and an adult were injured.
Drone strikes were also reported in Chernivtsi region, where one person was injured, and Ternopil region, where attacks on energy facilities caused power cuts.
The strikes come as Russia targets Ukraine's energy grid ahead of winter, adding pressure on civilians and the power supply.
