Turkey ends exclusive charging agreements on North Marmara motorway
Turkey’s Competition Board accepted commitments from the North Marmara motorway operator to address concerns about electric-vehicle charging competition.
The operator, Marmara Otoyolu Yatırım ve İşletme AŞ, had been suspected of reserving charging facilities for companies linked to its shareholders and rejecting rivals.
The company must not sign exclusive charging contracts while it operates on the motorway.
It must also offer current and future charging providers equal commercial terms, including fees and revenue-sharing arrangements.
Application rules must be ready within two months, and the operator must complete evaluations within four months.
It will report to the Competition Board every six months for three years so compliance can be monitored.
