Bayraktar TB2 releases two strike drones in test
Turkish company Baykar tested its Bayraktar TB2 carrying smaller strike drones at a test range in Türkiye.
The TB2 took off from the Keşan Flight Training and Test Center with 16 Skydagger first-person view drones on board.
It released two of the drones during the test, while the other 14 were not reported as released.
Operators remotely controlled the two drones through a communications link established via the TB2, and they hit their designated targets.
The test showed the TB2 can act as an airborne carrier and communications hub for smaller strike drones, rather than operating only as a conventional surveillance and strike aircraft.
The test reflects a wider military interest in combining larger unmanned aircraft with smaller systems, though the sources do not describe any deployment plans.
Baykar says the demonstration is part of efforts to expand the TB2’s capabilities; no further test or rollout date was given.
