Aramco completes 49% stake in Saudi AI company Humain
Aramco has completed its purchase of a 49% stake in Humain, a Saudi artificial intelligence company launched by the Public Investment Fund in May 2025.
Aramco is contributing 9.9 billion riyals in cash during 2026 and transferring assets in AI, computing and digital businesses.
The Public Investment Fund keeps a 51% stake, giving it the larger share of the company.
Aramco brings experience from using AI in its oil and gas operations, where applications generated more than 16.5 billion riyals in economic benefits over two years.
It has also invested in companies working on AI chips, language models and computing services, though those investments do not automatically give Humain rights to their technology.
Humain aims to build data centres with up to 3 gigawatts of capacity by 2030 and develop advanced models and services for local and global markets.
The challenge is to turn investment in computing and AI models into services that customers will buy and that generate returns.
