Musetti beats Kouame to reach Lyon quarterfinals

Italian Lorenzo Musetti beat Moise Kouame 6-4, 6-4 at the Lyon ATP 250 on Wednesday.

The win sends the No.

6 seed into the quarterfinals in Lyon.

Kouame, a 17-year-old French wildcard ranked No.

194, had started strongly and beaten Lorenzo Sonego in the first round.

But thigh pain and later stomach problems slowed Kouame, who called for medical attention during the match.

Musetti held his serve steadily, winning 82 percent of points behind his first serve.

This is Musetti’s sixth quarterfinal of the season.

He will face Valentin Vacherot or Luca Van Assche next.
