State Department press adviser Britt McHenry had a confrontation with a fan at Wednesday’s NBA game between the Washington Wizards and Milwaukee Bucks in Washington, D.C. A person cited by Page Six said a group of fans were heckling Bucks player Kyle Kuzma and insulting his fiancée, Winnie Harlow.
McHenry reportedly told one fan to ease up, after which the fan allegedly directed misogynistic remarks at her and threw a drink on her.
McHenry, who had also been drinking, allegedly threw a drink back at the fan.
Accounts differ on whether arena staff escorted her out or she chose to leave; video showed her arguing with staff as they pointed toward the doors.
McHenry was hired as a State Department press adviser in September and previously worked as a reporter for ESPN and a commentator for Fox News.
Her 2015 suspension from ESPN after a video showed her insulting a towing company employee drew renewed attention to the incident, while representatives for McHenry and the State Department declined to comment to Page Six.
