Google’s November Googlebook update frees up to 6GB of RAM
Google is rolling out its November update for Googlebooks, its recently launched laptops.
The update includes 30 fixes and improvements, along with the November 2026 security patch.
It frees 3GB to 6GB of RAM by reducing how much memory on-device AI uses.
That extra memory is intended to improve multitasking and reduce Chrome tabs reloading or crashing, especially under heavy workloads.
The update also fixes problems with USB microphones, video on external monitors and interrupted updates, as well as Bluetooth audio and the Linux Terminal.
Some memory improvements are specified for Acer, Asus and Lenovo models, while several other fixes apply to particular devices or situations.
The update is rolling out gradually, and users can check for it in Settings under System and Software updates.
