Susmita Mukherjee says Ravana reflects the evil within people

Actor Susmita Mukherjee says Ravana represents people’s negative traits in a discussion about the Ramayana.

She describes him as a mirror that helps people see evil, rather than as someone to judge.

Her comments come amid debate about how Ravana is portrayed in the newly released Ramayana film.

The epic, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, stars Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.

Mukherjee also says the Ramayana and the Mahabharata carry cultural wisdom across generations.

She said these stories can help people connect with their cultural roots and core values.

Ramayana is in theatres and continues its theatrical run.
