Silvia Bronchalo says Daniel Sancho knew she recorded their prison calls
Silvia Bronchalo says she recorded conversations with her son Daniel Sancho while he was in prison in Thailand.
She says Sancho knew about the recordings and gave his consent, and denies leaking them.
The recordings became controversial after one call, from October 2025, was made public.
In it, Sancho discussed raising €100,000 to seek provisional release, through buying land in Thailand to use as a guarantee.
Bronchalo said she had doubts about the proposal and worried it could be illegal.
Sancho is serving a life sentence for the murder of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta, and a Thai court rejected appeals against the sentence on September 25.
His legal team is preparing to seek a further appeal before Thailand’s Supreme Court.
Silvia Bronchalo says her son, Daniel Sancho, knew she recorded their prison conversations and had given his permission.
She made the claim in a preview of an interview on Telecinco’s ¡De viernes!, where she discussed the controversy over the recordings.
Bronchalo denies being responsible for the recordings’ leak and says she does not know who released them.
One conversation, from October 2025, concerned Sancho’s suggestion to raise 100,000 euros to seek provisional release from prison.
