Gamm Vert store in Aix-Noulette to close on November 7

Gamm Vert store in Aix-Noulette to close on November 7

The Gamm Vert store in Aix-Noulette will close permanently on November 7 after 36 years in the town, near Lens in northern France.

The store is holding a clearance sale before it shuts, with discounts on goods available while stocks last.

The decision affects 13 employees and local customers, and the town says it was not consulted beforehand.

The store’s building has a problem with merule, a fungus that can damage structures, raising safety concerns.

A renovation plan considered in 2021 did not go ahead, in part because nearby heritage protections limited changes to the site.

The closure will leave a 3,000-square-metre commercial site with an uncertain future.

Customers with orders, vouchers or loyalty rewards should check their terms with the store or Gamm Vert, while legal guarantees on purchases remain in force.
