Jeonbuk to inspect seven soil-safe gas stations

Jeonbuk’s environmental office will inspect seven gas stations from Nov.

2 to 20.

The checks cover seven of the province’s 37 soil-safe stations in South Korea.

These stations are designated for using pollution-prevention equipment, including double-walled storage tanks and leak sensors.

The designation brings testing exemptions and loan support for installing pollution-prevention equipment.

Inspectors will check for leaks and whether sensors and alarms work properly.

Minor violations may lead to guidance to make repairs, while serious ones, such as leaving faulty equipment unrepaired, could result in the station losing its designation.
