Brazil’s national service invoice system adds profile switching
Brazil’s national electronic service invoice system now allows users to switch profiles without ending their session or logging in again.
The change, available since Nov.
1, affects people and businesses using the NFS-e system, including accountants, legal representatives and authorized agents.
The NFS-e records services provided by businesses, and users can act for another person or company only when they have a valid electronic authorization or a recognized business-registration link.
Accountants can manage multiple clients in one session, reducing repeated access steps.
The new representation options also cover APIs, which let accounting software and business systems connect to the national services for issuing and distributing invoices.
Integrated software must support the new features, and all users still need the required permissions and links.
The update came as micro and small businesses under Brazil’s Simples Nacional tax regime that provide services subject to NFS-e requirements began having to use the national platform, including in municipalities with their own systems.
Brazil’s national electronic service invoice system began allowing users to switch profiles and represent authorized people or businesses without logging in again on November 1, 2026.
The change applies to the national web issuer and to APIs for issuing and distributing invoices.
Users can act for others through a valid electronic power of attorney or recognized links in the company registry.
The feature covers company legal representatives and businesses or establishments sharing the same eight-digit CNPJ root.
The update aims to simplify work for accountants and other authorized users, but no official estimate of time or cost savings was given.
