French housing summit showcases startups and AI tools

At the first housing innovation summit in France, startups presented projects at the Ministry of the City and Housing during a week of property and housing events.

Kocliko uses sensors and connected controls to manage shared heating, and its system is being rolled out in 50,000 homes.

Sonalyze offers a connected device that assesses noise inside a home and from outside or neighbouring properties, with ratings from A to G. Sensspace measures how buildings perform in different conditions and suggests renovations, while Terria makes construction blocks from raw earth and construction waste.

At the RENT property technology show, companies also highlighted how AI is changing property searches by matching people’s needs with listings, prices, transport and surroundings.

These tools could make housing more energy-efficient and searches quicker, but human expertise still matters for checking information, negotiating and advising.

The summit provided a chance for startups to share projects they hope to develop; no further steps were specified.
