BYD launches luxury Han electric sedan in China
Chinese automaker BYD has launched its flagship Han electric sedan in China.
The car costs 235,900 yuan in its home market, about $35,200 at the stated exchange rate.
BYD says it can travel almost 630 miles on China's CLTC test cycle, or about 508 miles under the stricter European WLTP standard.
Its long range and luxury features put it up against premium electric cars, including the Lucid Air Grand Touring.
The Han includes features such as rear-wheel steering, air suspension and an augmented-reality head-up display.
With BYD's Flash Charge system, the battery can charge from 10% to 97% in nine minutes.
BYD has not said whether it will sell the sedan outside China, though it may consider offering it through its Denza brand; the car would likely cost more in other markets.
