Lithuanian group presents X-12 interceptor drone tested in Ukraine
A Lithuanian-led defense group has presented the X-12, a turbojet-powered drone designed to intercept fast aerial targets, including Russian Shahed and Geran-5 drones.
The group brings together defense companies from Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine.
The interceptor has been tested in wartime conditions in Ukraine, and a group representative said Ukrainian soldiers who tried it were pleased with the technology.
Developers say it can reach 700 km/h, has a stated range of 126 km and can fly for about 12 minutes.
They say it was designed to cost less than a Shahed and contains no Chinese-made components, with parts made in Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine.
The group presents the X-12 as part of a layered air-defense system, and Lithuania’s defense ministry has welcomed the possibility of using it in the country’s defenses.
The developers plan to supply X-12s to Ukraine, and one account says Lithuania intends to arrange serial production.
A Lithuanian defense technology association has presented the X-12, a jet-powered drone interceptor designed to target fast aerial threats.
The association says the drone has been tested in combat conditions in Ukraine and is intended to counter Russian jet-powered drones.
Developers say the X-12 can reach speeds of up to 700 kilometres per hour and has a stated range of 126 kilometres.
The association says the interceptor is cheaper than a Shahed drone and contains no Chinese components.
Lithuania’s Ministry of National Defence has welcomed the possibility of integrating such interceptors into the country’s air defence system.

What people are saying
Without the Ukrainians we could not have done anything, because we do not have the conditions ourselves to test such technologies.
The most important thing for us is that Lithuania receives the latest technologies to protect its skies.
For us it was extremely important that we did not have to use any Chinese components.
