Türkiye reports record third-quarter tourism revenue of $25.5 billion

Türkiye’s tourism revenue hit a quarterly record of $25.526 billion in the third quarter, up 5% from a year earlier, Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said.

The record followed a difficult second quarter, which Ersoy said was hurt by regional tensions between Israel, the United States and Iran.

Revenue for the first nine months reached $51.278 billion, up 2.4%, while Türkiye welcomed 49.132 million visitors.

The figures suggest tourism recovered from the earlier setback and show the importance of a sector that Türkiye is seeking to grow across the year.

The country is promoting more than 60 tourism products, including city, cultural and food tourism, and the United Kingdom is its third-largest source of visitors after Russia and Germany.

Türkiye plans to broaden tourism further, with Formula 1 expected to return in 2027 alongside other international events; Ersoy also said rising oil prices could raise fares on flights of three hours or more in 2027.
