Man accused of stabbing two people at Austin coffee shop
Police say two people were stabbed at Buzz Mill Coffee in Austin’s East Riverside area just before 9 p.m.
Wednesday.
Authorities identified the suspect as 20-year-old Shankar Temple Grace, who police say was wearing a zombie costume.
Both victims were taken to hospital; one had life-threatening injuries, and the other had non-life-threatening injuries, but both were later reported stable.
Grace faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was being held at Travis County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
Police have not said what may have led to the stabbing.
Officers found the suspect on a nearby walking trail after searching the area.
The case comes as Austin prepares for large Halloween crowds, with police planning street closures and barriers downtown.
Police have not announced what happens next in the case.
