Milan gives Sankhoun Diawara his first Serie A start
Milan started Sankhoun Diawara in Serie A against Udinese, giving the young defender his league debut.
The 20-year-old, born in Paris, joined Milan from French club Troyes in the summer.
He replaced the injured Gila in a four-man defence that also included Tomori, De Winter and Pavlovic.
Diawara had previously made two brief appearances in the Europa League but had not played in Serie A. Milan invested about €3 million in the left-footed defender, who can play at centre-back or on the left side of defence.
He was used as a left-back against Udinese, although he is suited to a three-man defence and is viewed as a player who can develop with the first team.
