Kayla Harrison says Demetrious Johnson’s criticism of women’s MMA was unnecessary

Kayla Harrison criticized Demetrious Johnson for comments about women’s MMA and her own career.

Johnson and Israel Adesanya laughed when they learned that a women’s flyweight title fight would headline UFC 332.

Harrison said mocking the fighters was unnecessary, arguing that giving them a main event could help build their profiles.

She also said Johnson had advised her to retire rather than fight Amanda Nunes.

Harrison is set to defend her UFC title against Nunes in the co-main event at UFC 334 on November 14.

The fight is being promoted as a major event in women’s MMA, and Harrison says she plans to keep fighting despite feeling that her body is wearing down.

First of all, he’s the one that said I shouldn’t fight Amanda, I should retire.

There’s enough room at the table for all of us to eat, and we don’t have to belittle, poke fun or put down anyone else to build our own brand.
