Swiss and Edelweiss require Travel ID for online check-in
Swiss and Edelweiss will require a Travel ID for online check-in from November 16 for flights from Zurich.
The airlines are part of Germany’s Lufthansa Group, which is introducing the requirement across its airlines in stages.
Passengers must register with an email address, their name, birth date and a password to create the account.
They can also save personal details, travel documents and payment information, and use the ID across Lufthansa Group airlines.
The change adds a step for occasional flyers, while frequent customers may already have an account.
Passengers without an account can check in at Zurich Airport counters or kiosks, and some group, tour-operator and charter bookings are exempt.
The change is expected to be complete across Lufthansa Group airlines by the end of November.
