Brazilian Air Force intercepts plane from Bolivia near Juara

Brazilian Air Force aircraft intercepted a Cessna from Bolivia on October 23 after it entered Brazilian airspace irregularly over Mato Grosso.

The white plane had no filed flight plan and an unidentified registration, prompting the interception.

An A-29 Super Tucano fighter carried out the operation with support from an E-99 surveillance aircraft, which monitors air traffic.

The pilot made a forced landing near Juara, in northern Mato Grosso, as the Brazilian aircraft approached.

The pilot then set the plane on fire and fled the scene.

The operation was coordinated by Brazil’s Aerospace Operations Command and involved the Federal Police.

The pilot’s identity and the flight’s purpose have not been disclosed.
