Leclerc tops second practice at the Mexico Grand Prix

Charles Leclerc led Friday’s second practice at the Mexico Grand Prix, driving for Ferrari.

He recorded a time of 1:17.827, ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris and Mercedes’ George Russell.

Verstappen and Lawson made contact at Turn 12 after reaching the corner side by side, scattering debris and bringing out a brief red flag.

The session followed a first hour in which 10 experienced drivers took over cars that their teams had given to rookies.

Leclerc also topped the first practice, while Lewis Hamilton finished outside the top 10 in the second session after ending his run early.

The drivers return on Saturday for final practice at 11:30 a.m.

Central Time, followed by qualifying at 3 p.m.
