Franchises in Puebla create 1,500 jobs in 2026

Franchises in Puebla created 1,500 jobs in 2026 as existing businesses expanded and new brands opened in the Mexican state.

Francisco Lobato Galindo of the Mexican Franchise Network said Puebla has 1,700 outlets and 380 brands, making it the country’s fourth-largest franchise market after Mexico City, Jalisco and Nuevo León.

Sales improved in the second half of the year, helping businesses grow and hire.

Food and drink franchises make up about 70% of Puebla’s franchise businesses, including restaurants, cafés and fast-food outlets.

Franchises also operate in services and retail, and need staff for roles from customer service to management and logistics.

The sector provides jobs and supports local commerce, including opportunities for young people and others seeking formal work.

Five projects plan to open by the end of 2026 or early 2027, mainly in the city of Puebla and its metropolitan area.
