Former Aldi worker accused of taking $1,380 from Jupiter store registers

A former Aldi worker in Jupiter, Florida, is accused of taking cash from store registers by rescanning customers’ returned items.

Police say the alleged scheme took place at the store on West Indiantown Road between Aug.

9 and Sept.

11, 2026.

Aldi documented six transactions totaling $1,380.80, from Aug.

9 to Sept.

4, including one for $499.15.

The store’s district manager told police that returned goods were put on a rack, then allegedly rescanned so cash could be removed while the register still appeared balanced.

Surveillance did not directly show cash being taken: an officer saw the worker reach beneath the counter and put an object in her pocket, but the return rack was outside the camera’s view.

The affidavit says a written statement attributed to the worker estimated that the conduct lasted about four months and involved roughly $4,000, more than the six transactions Aldi documented.

She turned herself in on Oct.

15 and faces two felony allegations, grand theft and scheme to defraud; the sources do not say what happens next in the case.
