South Korea wins CyberNet for fifth straight year

South Korea’s Cyber Operations Command won CyberNet 2026, an international cyber competition held in Oldebroek, the Netherlands.

Teams from nine countries took part, including South Korea, Germany, France and Japan.

The Dutch Cyber Command has hosted the annual competition since 2018, with NATO members and partner countries participating.

Teams carry out live cyber attack and defence operations during the event.

South Korea first competed in 2021 and came second, then won in 2022; it has now taken the title five years in a row.

The result highlights the command’s cyber operations capability.

It plans to strengthen that capability through a South Korean civil, government and military cyber security contest and conference, as well as joint cyber exercises with the United States.
