Chuncheon Seeks New Operator for Its Public Senior Hospital

Chuncheon is seeking a new operator for its public senior hospital in South Korea.

The current operator’s contract ends on January 31, and the selected operator will take over on February 1, 2027, for five years.

The hospital has 199 beds and has treated dementia and other conditions affecting older people since it opened in 2010.

Eligible applicants include certain medical and nonprofit organizations, as well as specialists with at least three years of experience running a hospital-level facility.

Applications are due by November 26, and the city will assess applicants’ ability, finances, expertise, transparency and plans to work with the community.

The city aims to support its dementia ward and plans to pursue official designation as a dementia-care hospital.
