Apple plans bond sale of about $7 billion

Apple is planning to raise about $7 billion through a bond sale in the United States.

The company’s proposed offering has seven parts, with bonds due from 2028 to 2036, including notes with fixed and floating interest rates.

Apple says it could use the money for general business purposes, including share buybacks, dividends and repaying debt.

The company has not said how much would go to any one purpose or whether it will refinance specific debts.

Apple reported $136.9 billion in cash and investments at the end of fiscal 2026, so the proposed borrowing is not described as a response to an immediate funding need.

It also reported record September-quarter revenue of $114.5 billion and $28 billion in operating cash flow.

The sale’s final size and interest rates remain unsettled, and the sources give no date for when those details will be decided.
