ZDF crime series Die Chefin returns with 10 new episodes
ZDF’s crime series Die Chefin returns for a 17th season on 11 December, with Katharina Böhm again playing Munich investigator Vera Lanz.
The season has 10 new episodes, following a series that began in 2012 and has aired more than 100 episodes.
In the opening episode, Lanz investigates the killing of a probation officer who was found dead with a sword-shaped letter opener.
Two people connected to the victim come under suspicion, and one of them later takes a police officer’s gun.
The episodes will be available online before TV, starting on 4 December in ZDF’s media library.
The Friday broadcast schedule pauses over the holidays, with the series due to continue in January; episodes will remain available to stream free for a year.
