Nibbles rescued after being trapped in dead owner’s Shrewsbury home for weeks

Nibbles was rescued from her dead owner’s home in Shrewsbury after being trapped there for weeks.

Her owner had died, and rescuers said his body was found around a fortnight later.

The cat was still inside after his body was removed, and the house was locked up.

She survived by eating dry food left in the home and drinking water from the toilet.

A friend alerted a rescue charity, which entered the property and found Nibbles in the bedroom.

The team has complained to West Mercia Police, saying officers who entered earlier did not spot her; police say they cannot comment until the complaint process is complete.

Nibbles is now being cared for by volunteers, and the charity says she needs time and reassurance before she can be rehomed.
