Water network planned for nine villages in Samcheok

Water network planned for nine villages in Samcheok

Samcheok plans to extend its public water network to nine villages in Nogok-myeon, in South Korea’s Gangwon Province.

The project is expected to serve 180 households and 296 people in areas with limited water supply.

Residents currently rely on small local systems that can run short of water during droughts, freeze in winter and turn muddy during the rainy season.

The city plans to invest 22.1 billion won in the expansion.

It expects the new network to reduce disruptions caused by seasonal and weather conditions.

Construction is scheduled to begin next year, but no completion date is given.

Samcheok has also completed water-network work in parts of Miro-myeon and Hajang-myeon and is continuing projects in other unserved areas.
