Former Indonesian Army chief Subagyo Hadi Siswoyo died on Monday at the age of 80.
He was a senior military figure from Indonesia who also led the army’s special forces command.
He served as army chief from 1998 to 1999 and later joined the Presidential Advisory Council from 2015 to 2019.
Subagyo was a senior of President Prabowo Subianto during their military service, and Prabowo once succeeded him as special forces commander.

His body is due to be taken from a funeral home in Yogyakarta to Jakarta for a ceremony at army headquarters.
