Yongin to raise household water and sewer rates by 100 won per tonne
South Korea’s Yongin city will raise household water and sewer charges from bills issued in December.
The combined household rate will rise by 100 won per tonne: 20 won for water and 80 won for sewage.
The increase varies by use and consumption level, so other customers may see different changes.
Yongin says the step is part of a 2024–2028 plan to address growing operating deficits as production costs rise.
The city says it will use all added revenue for facilities and upkeep to provide safe tap water and treat sewage.
Further increases at similar rates are planned for 2027 and 2028, according to the city.
