London Zoo animals find Halloween treats inside pumpkins
London Zoo keepers gave animals Halloween treats by placing pumpkins filled with favourite foods around their enclosures.
The zoo is in Regent’s Park in London.
Humboldt penguins found fish served on pumpkin platters, while western lowland gorillas explored pumpkins, peppers and lettuce.
The food was hidden to encourage natural foraging skills, such as searching for food and following scents.
Keepers have also used carved pumpkins for other animals, including Sumatran tigers, okapis, Komodo dragons and Galapagos tortoises.
The seasonal activity gives animals a chance to explore and forage in new ways.
The zoo holds its family-friendly Halloween activities each October.
