Pasar Senen Blok VI redevelopment resumes in Jakarta

Redevelopment of Pasar Senen Blok VI has resumed in Central Jakarta after the project stalled.

The restart follows a cooperation agreement between market operator Perumda Pasar Jaya and PT Best Green.

Groundbreaking is planned for November 2026, after site preparation and other pre-construction work.

The four-storey market, with parking on its rooftop, is designed to hold 1,700 stalls and kiosks.

Its transit-oriented design connects with train, commuter rail and bus services, while an MRT station in the area is planned.

The new market is intended to give traders a better place to return to, though the sources do not say when they will move back.

Construction is scheduled to take 15 months after groundbreaking, with the building then to be handed over to traders.
