Dax rises as investors await Apple results and US midterm elections

German stocks recovered on Monday, with the Dax closing 0.63% higher at 25,981.09 points.

The rise followed a drop on Friday and came as US markets also rebounded.

Lower oil prices and hopes for diplomacy in the US-Iran war supported shares, including travel companies Tui and Lufthansa.

Technology stocks also gained after recent concerns about whether heavy spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure will pay off.

Investors were waiting for Apple’s quarterly results, due after US markets closed, and for US midterm elections on Tuesday.

The Dax briefly moved above 26,000 points but could not hold that level, as investors lacked confidence and geopolitical risks remained.

The results and election may shape market sentiment, while the Dax’s next direction remains uncertain.
