SCP finds many Dutch people feel disadvantaged over housing and politics
A Dutch study found many people feel disadvantaged in areas including housing and political representation.
The Social and Cultural Planning Office said 30% feel disadvantaged over housing and 28% over political representation, though most do not.
Some people, especially those with vocational education, say scarce homes and political attention go to other groups first.
They also report opposing views about whether courts and cultural traditions treat different groups fairly.
The study says people who feel disadvantaged are more likely to face hardship in housing, work, income or health.
People with university education are more likely to see diversity as positive and feel fairly represented.
Those who feel left behind more often vote for the PVV or Forum for Democracy, or do not vote, while those who feel advantaged more often support D66, Pro, VVD or CDA.
