Mexico issues lottery ticket marking Mexico City airport’s 98th anniversary

Mexico’s National Lottery unveiled a ticket marking Benito Juárez International Airport’s 98th anniversary in Mexico City.

The airport, known as AICM, is one of the country’s main air links and has served passengers for nearly a century.

The first aircraft landed on one of its runways on November 5, 1928, while the airport was still being built.

The commemorative ticket is for draw 2903, with a 17 million peso top prize paid across two series.

AICM connects with more than 100 destinations through 22 airlines, and officials described it as important to travel, trade and the national economy.

The airport is undergoing a new phase of modernisation, including infrastructure improvements, better services and new technology.
