US charges 24 in Tennessee drug network linked to Sinaloa Cartel
US prosecutors charged 24 people over an alleged drug network operating in central Tennessee.
The group was linked to the Sinaloa Cartel, but officials did not say which faction it was connected to.
Court documents allege that people known as “La Oficina” directed the operation from Mexico and elsewhere, coordinating drug sales and money laundering.
Prosecutors say the network distributed large amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs, and that two alleged leaders directed it from Tennessee prisons while serving time for unrelated crimes.
Authorities seized more than 500 kilograms of methamphetamine, along with fentanyl, cocaine, cash, firearms and five vehicles.
Nashville police said most of the drugs were seized in Davidson County.
The charges include alleged conspiracy to distribute drugs, and some defendants also face individual drug and firearm charges carrying an additional mandatory minimum prison term.
The charges remain allegations; the account does not say when the case will next be heard.
