Milan trade forum to focus on tariffs and global challenges
The International Trade Forum will meet in Milan on 23 October for its fourth edition.
It will bring together businesses, government figures and European Union institutions to discuss changes affecting global trade.
Topics include US tariffs under Donald Trump, conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and new trade barriers.
The forum will examine how international trade policies affect Italian businesses, including companies that export.
Early findings from a survey of 200 Italian exporting businesses point to a call for a stronger Europe that speaks with one voice.
Participants will also discuss the EU customs reform, whose planned measures include a European data hub and a new EU customs authority.
The discussions will seek a balance between open markets, economic security and protecting EU production, with four themed panels and contributions from Italian and EU officials.
