Jang urges Lee to apologize and change course in policy address
People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok urged President Lee Jae-myung to change course in an address to South Korea's National Assembly.
Jang said the president should apologize for policies he blamed for problems including housing costs, falling semiconductor-related shares and a farmland survey.
He also called on Lee to show resolve over North Korea's military threats and address concerns about the US-South Korea alliance.
Jang urged the government to stop what he called attacks on the judiciary, including moves involving the chief justice and a special investigation.
He said a proposed parliamentary inquiry into Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae was aimed at preventing Lee's trial from resuming, an accusation made by Jang.
Jang said the inquiry could instead expose grounds to impeach the president, while the governing Democratic Party is seeking the inquiry.
He also said his party would present its own budget plan on November 3, in response to the government's proposed 821 trillion-won budget.

What people are saying
He should say what the people want to hear, not what he wants to say.
He must apologize for the livelihood tyranny of a housing hell, the Samjeon-Nix ETF stock price collapse, and a nationwide farmland survey, and promise a policy change.
If he once again just heaps praise on himself and treats the people like pigs, the policy address will become a declaration of the regime’s end.
