Sánchez warns Spain’s right may govern alongside Milei

Argentina’s President Javier Milei is visiting Madrid during Spain’s campaign for a general election on 29 November.

He is due to meet Madrid regional president Isabel Díaz Ayuso and the Vox-linked Disenso Foundation, but not Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez or King Felipe VI.

Sánchez says the PP and Vox plan to govern with Milei, and is using the visit to urge progressive voters to support the PSOE.

He argues that a right-wing government could bring cuts to pensions, the minimum wage and public services.

Transport Minister Óscar Puente also criticised Milei’s policies, comparing employment and business figures in Spain and Argentina.

The PSOE wants a broad election victory so it can continue governing for four more years.
