Lahiru Udara replaces injured Pathum Nissanka in Sri Lanka Test squad

Lahiru Udara replaces injured Pathum Nissanka in Sri Lanka Test squad

Pathum Nissanka has been ruled out of Sri Lanka’s Test series in Pakistan while recovering from a left hamstring injury.

Sri Lanka Cricket named batter Lahiru Udara to take his place in the squad.

Nissanka had also missed the team’s T20Is and ODIs because of the injury.

Udara is already in Pakistan with Sri Lanka’s ODI squad, making the switch to the Test team easier.

The two-Test series is part of the ICC World Test Championship, a competition in which teams earn points through Test matches.

Sri Lanka are seventh and Pakistan ninth in the standings, so the series gives both sides a chance to improve their positions.

The first Test is scheduled to begin on November 9, with matches in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
