Andover Town game abandoned at 8-0 after Paulsgrove could not continue

Andover Town’s match against Paulsgrove was abandoned at 8-0 after the visitors could not continue with enough players.

Andover had led 7-0 at half-time, and Paulsgrove returned for the second half with seven players.

After Andover scored again, the game ended when Paulsgrove were down to six.

Andover manager Robbie Skeates questioned how the injuries happened and alleged that Paulsgrove’s manager told players to go down; Paulsgrove posts said the injuries were genuine.

The clubs play in the Hampshire Premier Football League, in the 12th tier of English football, and Paulsgrove had lost all 10 of its league games this season.

The league has opened an investigation, so it has not yet decided what will happen to the result or the goals.

Andover say they will submit a report, while the team is due to play a cup match next Saturday.
