Israeli 3D-Printed Plant-Based Meats Launch in US Stores

Israeli company Perfecta launched 3D-printed plant-based meats in specialty stores across the northeastern United States.

Perfecta is a subsidiary of Steakholder Foods, and it partnered with KeHE Distributors to bring the products to stores.

The frozen vegan range includes beef, poultry and seafood-style foods, such as filet mignon, chicken breast and fish patties.

The products are made at a factory in Ness Ziona, Israel, using the company’s proprietary technology.

The launch brings the products to US retail shelves for the first time, after the company sold 3D-printed proteins in Israel and Taiwan.

Each package costs about $10, and some products contain wheat and soy, so they are not suitable for people with allergies to those ingredients.

Perfecta says it plans to expand retail and distribution as consumer demand grows.
