Celltrion posts record quarterly results as new drug sales surge

South Korean drugmaker Celltrion reported record third-quarter results, with sales of 1.5755 trillion won and operating profit of 525.3 billion won.

Both figures were much higher than a year earlier, as sales of newer products grew quickly.

Five newer product groups brought in 388 billion won, up 335% from the same quarter last year.

Their growing share of sales helped lift the operating profit margin to 33.3%, from 29.3% a year earlier.

Four brokerages raised their share price targets and kept their ratings at “buy,” citing stronger sales and expected profit growth.

Analysts expect new products to support further growth next year, though forecasts differ between firms.

One outstanding question is whether increased US prescriptions for Zymfentra will translate into higher sales, after its third-quarter revenue fell from the previous quarter.
