Clemente Del Vecchio becomes Delfin’s largest shareholder

Clemente Del Vecchio has become Delfin’s largest shareholder after buying shares from Rocco Basilico for about €800,000.

The 22-year-old, the youngest of founder Leonardo Del Vecchio’s eight heirs, now holds just over 12.5% of the Luxembourg-based holding company.

The transfer covered 550 ordinary shares and 22 preferred shares, and Delfin’s board registered the sale after receiving notice in October.

The deal also supports Basilico’s claim to full ownership of his shares, which his half-brother Leonardo Maria had disputed.

The heirs remain divided over the estate, including the shares, dividends and management of Delfin’s investments in companies such as EssilorLuxottica and Generali.

Leonardo Maria has said he asked his lawyers to end lawsuits against his siblings, but no overall inheritance agreement has been announced.
