Joe Marchant and Will Joseph recalled to England squad
England have recalled centres Joe Marchant and Will Joseph to a 36-man training squad for November’s Nations Championship games.
Marchant, 30, last played for England at the 2023 Rugby World Cup and is back after returning to English club rugby with Sale.
Joseph, 24, plays for Gloucester and has one previous England appearance, from the 2022 tour of Australia.
The call-ups add midfield options as injuries affect England’s backs: Bristol centre Benhard Janse van Rensburg is sidelined, while three players are in camp to continue rehabilitation.
England will also assess uncapped players, including Northampton scrum-half Archie McParland and Bath hooker Kepu Tuipulotu.
The squad will return to their clubs for a round of Premiership matches after a training camp at Pennyhill Park.
England’s November schedule starts against Australia on 8 November, followed by Japan and New Zealand, before the Nations Championship’s concluding weekend; the final fixtures are yet to be confirmed.
