E.Leclerc cuts diesel prices by 21 cents per litre at 742 stations

E.Leclerc will cut diesel prices by 21 cents per litre at its 742 service stations in France from 1 November.

The retailer says the cut will save drivers just over 10 euros on a 50-litre fill-up.

The reduction comes from government-approved releases of strategic fuel reserves, whose lower cost will be passed on to customers, E.Leclerc says.

The daily diesel price will still follow market rates.

TotalEnergies had already lowered diesel to 2.15 euros per litre at its 705 Access stations on 31 October.

Other major fuel retailers have made different commitments: Coopérative U has promised reductions of up to 18 cents from 1 November, while Intermarché has not set a date or amount.

French stations must clearly display the amount of the price cut, and prices may differ between retailers and locations.
