Uri entrepreneur aims to fund removal of a tonne of lake waste

Joel, a 23-year-old in canton Uri, runs a small business while working full time in shift work.

His brand, Cleanup Fashion, sells items including beanies and water bottles.

He donates money from each sale to Abfalltaucher Schweiz, a nonprofit that collects waste from Swiss waters.

The donation for each product is intended to fund the removal of at least one kilogram of waste.

Joel aims to help remove one tonne by the end of 2026, supporting efforts to clean up the country’s lakes.

A dispute over a similar logo cost him 12,000 francs and forced him to change his design.

A formal partnership with the nonprofit is planned for 2027, with a fixed annual donation.
